i-lign 8.2 release announcement

By Rachel | September 15, 2017

We’re pleased to confirm the release of ilign 8.2. Hosted customers will be upgraded during the evening of Sunday 17 September, pending final testing. As you know, the focus of this release is to simplify tasks and tasks pools for projects. Please get in contact if you have any questions or comments.

Simpler project tasks and task pools.

Click on the links to see our updated tutorials on Tasks and Task Pools. These tutorials are also accessible by clicking on the help icon on the right hand panel of the Tasking tab.

Key changes relate to the way you set-up and edit tasks and task pools. We’ve moved away from asking people to identify the task as fixed duration, fixed effort or fixed effort & duration. Instead we show the key information you need to set up a task: start and end dates, effort, assignments. You select, via the icons, which information you’d like to enter manually and which information you’d like i-lign to calculate for you.

Improved performance

We’ve also been doing some work to improve the speed that information loads, particularly in relation to the Value views. As a consequence of this work, people wanting to see the Value view of initiatives they’re working on will need to have a global security role which has the Search and Browse Initiatives flag selected.
